Thank You Card #1

I have two ladies that I work together with in our greeting card business. These ladies joined my organization earlier this year. I have not had the pleasure of meeting either of them yet, but we talk a lot on the phone and correspond via email.

They really are great ladies and are very productive and forward thinking in relation to Internet marketing. Occasionally I need to help them here or there with the odd thing, but for the most part, they just get in and get the job done.

We always have great conversations about marketing and the industry in general. It is a real privilege to work with these ladies.

I like writing but unfortunately, spelling is not one of my strong points. One of the ladies, Di, is a real stickler for typos and spelling errors. The first time I sent something to her, she replied with all of the mistakes she had found. She was very diplomatic about at that time as I guess she was unsure how I would take it. I am not to proud to admit that I am not the greatest speller in the world and I was thrilled that she had taken the time to correct my work for me and I told her this.

I guess that was like a red flag to a bull because she now routinely points out any little typos. I am really grateful for this and am so glad that I have her as my editor. When ever I have a document that I want checked, I send it to Di to look over.

As usual I couldn’t help making a card using an image from iStock. You can find lots of images in the bargain bin and it will only cost you $1. The cards that I send cost me $0.93 and so an extra $1 here or there is fairly trivial. It is still under $2 for a card which I think is very good. Of coarse taking your own pictures with a digital camera is the best way to go.

My greeting card service has over 16,000 cards to choose from but the main reason I like to choose my own pictures is so I can put my own slogan on the front of the card. It is easy to get the right picture for the right situation and then add a personal slogan that has a meaning for the recipient. It is not exactly necessary but hey, I am having fun so what does it matter.

Thank You Card #2

This was a very nice thank you card to write. I am an acupuncturist in a small country town on the east coast of Australia. I am in a small town of 8000 people named Cooma, which is in the Snowy Mountains.

We have a number of physiotherapists and one in particular refers many patients to my acupuncture clinic. I have spoken to Amelia on the telephone many times but have never actually meet her in person. She is very busy and so am I and we just haven’t had the chance to catch up in person.

I have been meaning to thank her for some time now and so this little project of sending out 2 cards everyday is having a good effect on me.

As it is coming into December I was able to also wish her a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and so I was able to send 2 messages with one card.

It is always a great feeling hitting the send button knowing that my custom made card will be printed, put in an envelope, stamped, and sent out within 24 hours. All this for $1.34, with a first class stamp and all!

Another Birthday Card

July 16, 2008

Here is a card that I sent to my 4 year old nephew, Noah. He lives on farm in regional N.S.W, The Rock. This picture was taken a little over a year ago when we were playing in the shearing shed. The door that Noah is coming through is where the sheep go once they have been sheared. We had lots of fun playing that day and Noah would not have seen this photo yet…I am sure he will get a nice surprise when he opens it.

Card Inside

The birthday image on the inside of the card I grabbed from Clip Art for the inside of the card. Hector Meter is something that I call Noah and he always giggles madly when I do and no doubt he will get a kick out of this one.

This birthday card took me about 15 minutes to make and to send to Australia with a first class stamp cost $1.87 all up…not bad at all!

Happy Birthday Bruce!

March 25, 2008

bruces-birthday-card.pngBefore I started using my online greeting card service, I could count the number of birthday cards that I sent in the post, in a year on one hand.

It is sad to say but; going to the newsagent, sifting through the cards to get the right one, writing the message in it, and then lining up at the post office just doesn’t appeal to me for some reason.

My Greeting card service has a contact manager built into it and reminds me 10 days before a contact’s birthday. All I need to do is select a card from my online catalog, write my message, and hit send. The card will arrive in the post, with my own handwriting font inside, within a week!

Today I sent a birthday card to a client I had when I was working in Sydney. I got very close to him and his family, so I really enjoyed sending this birthday card.

Bruce would be in his mid 50’s now but I am sure he is still as cool as ever. When he was turning fifty his wife and I would tease him about his mid life crisis…the convertible Mercedes Benz.

Sending a birthday card is such an easy thing to do and is always appreciated.

Thank You Card Journal - Day 3

December 3, 2007

julies-thank-you-card.pngToday was a super easy one to send 2 thank you cards. My sister drove 400km with her three boys and my mum to help my wife organize her kitchen cupboards. My Mum gave us a whole set of Tupperware as a wedding present.

My Sister’s youngest boy is only a few months old, and the other two are 5 and 3. Driving 400km just for the weekend is such a huge effort. A note to tell her how much I appreciate her was the least I could do.
It seems the ladies were in their element though; a kitchen, cupboards, and a load of Tupperware seemed to make them as happy as can be (must be a women thing). I must say when I go to get something from the cupboard now, it is so much easier to find these days.
My sister is a married to a farmer on the east coast of Australia. They have had an extremely tough time with the drought over the last few years. My sister has an amazing attitude and always comes to visit in a wonderfully positive frame of mind. She is probably tired, worried, and stressed but she just keeps looking forward. It is so easy to admire a women with such fortitude and courage. Thanking her is always a very easy thing to do!

Thank You Card #2

mum-thank-you-card-2.png My mum is such a kind and generous person that I never even need a reason to thank her but like my sister, she made the long journey and took the day off work to do it. Even though she has just moved into a new house and still had a lot of things she could have been doing, she made the time.

My mum is one of those people that will do anything for anyone if they ask and often even when they don’t ask (seems to be a trait of many mums). I find these super kind people can often feel unappreciated and so it is really good to be aware of this and acknowledge there acts of kindness.

My mum is always touched to the extreme when she is thanked for her kindness. I think like most people, she just loves to be appreciated, respected, and acknowledged for who she is.
Tupperware is a great thing, thanks mum!

Thank You Card Journal - Day 2

December 2, 2007

connies-thank-you-card.pngSending a thank you card is a great way to start the day. I am finding it a good practice to have to really think about 2 people that I want to thank each day. I have a feeling as time goes on, it will become more like a habit.

Today the first person I sent a thank you card is a patient of mine. (I am an acupuncturist as well as an Internet marketer.)

She is 95 years old, and an amazing women. Recently she brought in a beautiful Japanese Haiku calendar as a Christmas present for my wife and I.

Even though she is quite old, she always manages to get about on her own and when the fruits are in season she will often come with jams and sauces that she has made. It is so easy to thank her.

Thank You Card #2
Once again it was rather easy to find someone to send a thank you card to. My second card was a fun one and I probably spent a little more time than I though I would, but I know my little nephews will get a kick out of it so it was well worth the time.

seths-cards.png
seth-and-noah-thank-you-card-2.png I wanted to thank them for being great boys on the weekend when they came to visit with my sister and mum. It is a 800km round trip and they came for just the weekend to help us out. They never grumbled or mumbled and had fun even though they were obviously tired.

Earlier in the year we had a trip to Sydney together and went to the Aquarium and the Zoo. I always like to remind them of the fun times we have had together.

The front of this card is my little nephew mesmerized by all the wonderful creatures of the sea. This was a perfect chance to thank them for being such good boys while reminding them of a fun times we had together.

I also got to tell them that I had spoken with Santa and that he should be able to arrange a very useful gift indeed. There is nothing like building the excitement around Christmas for the little ones.

I am not a dad yet, but I sure do love being an Uncle.

Thank You Card Journal - Day 1

December 1, 2007

yoursqueezepage.pngToday the cards have been fun to put together. I spent a little more time on the first thank you card because I felt the person I was thanking deserved a card with an extra special touch.

Mathew Glanfield is the CEO of, Glanfield Marketing Solutions. I use one of his products, YourSqueezePage, in my Internet marketing business . It usually costs $19.95 per month to use Mathew’s software but when it was launched, he offered a one time lifetime membership for $197, if I remember correctly.

I choose the lifetime membership as I new I would get a lot of value out of it. When I purchased, for some reason my PayPal payment didn’t go through but I still had access to Mathews software. I contacted the support staff and told them about this a number of times.

In the end they said that because I was honest, they would leave things as they were and I could keep the lifetime membership free of charge.

I have been using Mathew’s software and find that it makes my life as a marketer so much easier. I would have thanked Mathew regardless of whether I got his service for free or not.

For the front of this thank you card I downloaded a photo from istock photos and then grabbed the image off the top of his sales page.

On the inside, I just sent him a nice message and inserted a $20 Starbucks gift voucher. When I am creating my cards I can put all sorts of vouchers from restaurants, chocolates, books, and many other services. I wanted to thank the staff as well, so I though a coffee voucher would be fine.

Thank You Card #2 - Blogi 360

This was also an easy one to create. One of the important things about writing a thank you card is sincerity. Unless you truly feel thankful, it is probably best not to write thank you but some other message.

blog-i360-thank-you.png

I am truly grateful for the service that the owners and the staff at RPM Success Group provide. I use their service, Blog i360, to host this blog and also another blog that I own.

It is a fairly new company and so there are a few teething problems. The support staff has been wonderful in addressing any problems that I have had and so I really wanted to thank them.

The service at Blog i360 is everything that they promised and more. I am able to do my online business with ease and most importantly, my sites are regularly getting noticed by Google.

Although I have over 16,000 cards in my catalog, I just can’t resist making cards that have a special significance for the recipient.

Again I took the image off the top of their website and then found the image of the rocks at istock photos. The rocks have a couple of meanings for owners of this company. They live close to the beach, they are living their dream in Hawaii. The rocks also symbolize balance, and although Deb and J.P. have a big dream, I am sure balance is part of that for them. And of course, Blog i360 really does rock and so when I saw that picture, I instantly got the idea.

The only problem with sending thank you cards is it is way too much fun. People are really surprised when they get a card with there own company logo on it and a compliment. They really do love it and it gives me a great feeling to know I have brightened up someone’s day. It is certainly worth the time and effort!
